Nightwish comes from the cold north Europe country Finland. The idea of Nightwish was "born" in July 1996 at midnight when Tuomas was spending a night with his friends around a campfire. The first three songs, which were acoustic mood music, were recorded between October and December 1996. At that time, the band had three members: Tuomas, Tarja and Emppu.

In Desember 1996 drummer Jukka joined the band, and the next year 1997, Nightwish release the famous first single "Angels Fall First" Their First Video was released on 1998 named "The Carpenter" Afer that the bassist Sami V?nsk?  Joined. That was Nightwish early band members. In 2005 Tarja left the band, they found Anette to take place in early 2007. she was the main vocal in the new album "Dark Passion Play".

Their music was called Melodic Gothic. They have released 7 albums, they are:  Angels Fall First(1996), Oceanborn(1998), Wishmaster(2000), Over The Hills And Far Away [EP](2001), Century Child(2002), Once(2004) and  Dark Passion Play(2007). Between them "Oceanborn" 、"Wishmaster" were Gold Albums. "Century Child" rewarded double platinum album , "Once" sold out over 1000000, and new
est "Dark Passion Play "sold out over 42000 all over the wold. They are so famous that not only the Finlanders but also every German knows their name, especially the main vocal Tarja Turunen, she received a chance to visit the president of Finland Tarja Halonen.

Their live tour started in winter 1999 for three months. and then they toured Europe for 26 live concerts. In July 2000, they started world wild tour, they came to South America for the first time, and performed at Brazil、 Chile、Argentina、Panama、Mexico. in 2004 they visted Japan、 Australasia、 Colombia、poland、Danmark and Greece and in Augest they finally came to U.S.A. The concerts were very succeful.

Now in Jan.2008 they will come to China for first time, so let's looking forward to it!
